Details/Summary:
On May 10, 2024, at 3:27pm, the Fort Wayne Police Department was notified of an accident with injuries in the 11800 block of Coldwater Rd. Officers arrived and located an adult female driver of one of the vehicles, who was determined to be in life-threatening condition. She was taken to a local hospital where she remains in life-threatening condition. Also in her vehicle was a young juvenile, who is in good condition. Lastly, the juvenile driver of the other-involved vehicle is in non-life-threatening condition.
Initial information indicates a Jeep was traveling northbound on Coldwater Rd. and for some reason, went left of center and into oncoming traffic, colliding head on with a van traveling southbound. The adult female driver and young juvenile were in the van, and the juvenile driver was driving the Jeep. At this time, it is not known what caused the Jeep to go left of center and into oncoming traffic.
Investigators are on the scene taking measurements and collecting any evidence. Coldwater Rd. remains closed between Windrift Ln and Laddie Ln.
There is nothing further at this time, as the investigation is ongoing.
