A young teenager was a chronic runaway and often found in the company of an adult, Nicole Lee Greenwald. His father and Family Case Managers from the Indiana Department of Child Services suspected a romantic relationship was ongoing between the two, especially when the alleged defendant violated an Order of Protection several times resulting in her arrest.
Detective Sergeant Todd A. Battershell, a supervisor with the FWPD Crimes Against Persons Section (CAPS), was contacted once more information was available. He adopted the case and an investigation ensued. Miss Greenwald, an inmate at the Allen County Jail, was arrested for the listed charges on April 24, 2024.
