Win Streak Snapped at Dayton
By Jack GordonDayton, Ohio (April 16, 2024) – The TinCaps had their three-game winning streak snapped against the Dayton Dragons, 4-1, at Day Air Ballpark Tuesday night.
The lone run scored by Fort Wayne (4-5) was a solo home run by third baseman Devin Ortiz in the fifth inning. The New Jersey native has four hits and three RBIs in his last two games.
Catcher Ethan Salas (No. 1 Padres prospect) notched the only other extra-base hit with a double in the fourth. Salas has two doubles and seven hits on the season.
On the mound, on his 23rd birthday, right-hander Enmanuel Pinales began with two scoreless innings, striking out three of the first six hitters he faced. He pitched through the fourth inning and allowed three earned runs in the third.
Out of the bullpen, Mitchell Miller tossed two scoreless innings, lowering his season ERA to 1.93.
