FWFD: Apartment Fire, 1600 block Reed Road

On March 21, 2024, at 1426 hours, a resident of the Black Bear Apartments contacted 9-1-1 to report smoke in their building in the 1600 block of Reed Road.

Time of Alarm: 1426 hours
On Scene: 1429 hours
Under Control: 1505 hours

Firefighters found a first floor apartment and common hallway filled with smoke. Fire was discovered in and around an electric heating unit that was extinguished by crews. Adjacent apartments were checked for occupants with two residents evacuated.

No injuries occurred at this incident. The fire required extensive overhaul to two apartment units to bring under control.

The cause of the fire is being investigated.
