On February 28, 2024, at 0551 hours, the Fort Wayne Fire Department was dispatched to a house fire in the 4800 block of Dwight Drive.
Time of Alarm: 0551 hours
On Scene: 0558 hours
Under Control: 0615 hours
Upon arrival, firefighters found smoke coming from the electrical meter base. The attic was charged with smoke, but no extension of the fire was found. The small fire was around the electrical panel and contained to the back wall of house. Overhaul of the area and shutting off meter to house was done.
The fire was deemed to be accidental electrical.
