FWPD: Pursuit leads to arrest

On February 3, 2024, at approximately 1730 hours, FWPD officers attempted a traffic stop of a white Chevy Cobalt at the intersection of Meyer Road and SR 930.

Suspect Arrested: Billy Bennett Jr., 35 years of age

Preliminary Charges:

  1. Armed Robbery, Level 3 Felony
  2. Resisting Law Enforcement/Vehicle, Level 5 Felony
  3. Resisting Law Enforcement/Foot, Class A Misdemeanor
  4. A warrant for Failure to Appear (Possession of Firearm by Serious Violent Felon)

Details/Summary:

On Feb. 3, 2024 at approximately 5:30 am FWPD officers attempted a traffic stop of a white Chevy Cobalt at Meyer Rd. and SR 930. The vehicle refused to stop leading officers on a pursuit. During the course of the pursuit the suspect bailed from the vehicle and fled on foot. The suspect was arrested a short time later in the area of 1300 Estella Ave without incident. The suspect, Billy Bennet Jr. is wanted in connection to multiple robberies. We would like to thank FWPD operations officers and Detectives for their efforts in this arrest.
