On December 13, 2023, at 0456 hours, the Fort Wayne Fire Department was dispatched to a house fire in the 3900 block of South Calhoun Street, Fort Wayne, Indiana.
Time of Alarm: 0458 hours
On Scene: 0502 hours
Under Control: 0508 hours
Upon arrival of FWFD Engine 11, firefighters found smoke coming from multiple areas of the house and both occupants had self-evacuated by the time crews had arrived. Hose lines were pulled and the fire was quickly extinguished.
Upon searching the house, crews found two cats who were deceased and removed from the residence. At this time there were no hospital transports.
The fire remains under investigation.
