FWFD: Camper Fire, 3400 block McCormick Avenue

On December 10, 2023, at 1319 hours, the Fort Wayne Fire Department was dispatched to a camper fire in the 3400 block of McCormick Avenue, Fort Wayne, Indiana.

Time of Alarm: 1319 hours
On Scene: 1321 hours
Under Control: 1330 hours

FWFD Engine 9 arrived to find a camper engulfed in fire. The mobile home was parked in between two small residential homes. The motor home was very close to one of the homes. Fire had extended slightly into the next home where the occupant had safely self-evacuated. The motor home fore was extinguished and no further damage to the residence occurred. There was some siding damage to the house to the west of the camper as well.

A search of both the camper and the residence revealed nothing else. A cat was found and given to the occupant of the residence.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
