FWFD: Apartment Fire, 3900 block Newport Avenue

On December 10, 2023, at 1922 hours, the Fort Wayne Fire Department was dispatched to an apartment fire at the Coliseum Park Apartments in the 3900 block of Newport Avenue, Fort Wayne, Indiana.

Time of Alarm: 1922 hours
On Scene: 1926 hours
Under Control: 1939 hours

First firefighters arrived to find fire in a ground floor apartment. Crews worked quickly to extinguish the fire and search the fire and adjacent apartments. The fire took approximately ten minutes to bring under control.

Two adults were home at the time of the fire but were able to escape without injury. One cat was reported missing but was found unharmed and reunited with its owner.

The fire was contained to the unit of origin which sustained moderate smoke, water and fire damage.

No injuries were reported at the time of this report.
