On Nov. 8, 2023, the Fort Wayne Police Department received a report of an adult male suspect who had followed a 12-year-old male victim in and out of a bathroom at the library.

Details/Summary:
On Nov. 8th, 2023 the Fort Wayne Police Department received a report of an adult male suspect who had followed a 12 year old male victim in and out of a bathroom at the library. Sometime later, the male suspect passed the victim a sexually explicit note asking him to engage in sexual activity. An investigation was initiated by Det/Sgt. James Haupert of the Crimes Against Persons unit (CAPS). During the investigation, the suspect was identified as Otha Muirhead, a resident of Allen County. Muirhead was apprehended on December 1st when a warrant was issued for his arrest.
The FWPD recommends that parents be mindful of these dangers and accompany children to the bathroom in public places.
