Details/Summary:
On Saturday, October 7, 2023, at approximately 5:30pm, Fort Wayne Police Department officers were dispatched to a shooting in the area of Maplecrest Rd & Stellhorn Rd. Officers located a shooting victim in a parking lot near the intersection. Officers rendered aid to the victim along with Fort Wayne Fire Department and TRAA medics. The shooting victim was transported to a local hospital in critical condition. The shooting victim was later pronounced deceased at the local hospital.
Officers detained a person of interest at the shooting scene. The detained person is currently cooperating with the investigation.
The incident remains under investigation by the Fort Wayne Police Department, Allen County Coroner’s Officer, and Allen County Prosecutor’s Office.
