The Fort Wayne Police Department Fatal Accident Crash Team (FACT) is investigating a traffic accident that occurred today at roughly 1:46 pm. Preliminary investigation indicates that a motorcyclist was driving south on Lima Rd., lost control of the motorcycle and crashed at Lima/Ley. The adult male driver of the motorcycle was transported by TRAA to a local hospital in life threatening condition. The driver was not wearing a helmet. Witness statements indicate that another vehicle may have been involved in the accident. Investigators are tracking down any and all leads of the incident.
East and West bound traffic on Ley Rd. at Lima Rd. remains closed at this time, while the scene is being processed for evidence. This incident remains under investigation by the Fort Wayne Police Department and the Allen County Prosecutor’s Office.
All criminal defendants are to be presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.
