On September 6, 2023, at 2111 hours, the Fort Wayne Police Department was dispatched to the 6500 block of Reed Road in reference to a single motorcycle accident.

Details/Summary:
On Wednesday, September 6, 2023, at approximately 2111 hours, officers with the Fort Wayne Police Department were dispatched to the 6500 block of Reed Rd reference a single motor vehicle crash involving a motorcycle.
The motorcycle was traveling northbound on Reed Rd when it left the roadway. Officers onscene rendered aid to the driver of the motorcycle. Medics transported the driver to a local hospital. The driver’s injuries from the crash were determined to be life threatening at the hospital.
Speed is being investigated to determine if it was a factor in the crash. It is unknown at this time if alcohol played a role in the crash.
This incident remains under investigation by the City of Fort Wayne Police Department’s Fatal Crash Team.
All criminal defendants are to be presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.
