On July 5, 2023, at 0045 hours, the Fort Wayne Fire Department was dispatched to a structure fire at 3138 Broadway, Fort Wayne, Indiana.
Time of Alarm: 0045 hours
On Scene: 0048 hours
Under Control: 0126 hours
The first firefighters on the scene found a large volume of fire on the first floor of the structure. They worked for approximately 45 minutes to extinguish the blaze. Firefighters were able to get to the second-floor apartments above the retail area to search for trapped occupants, but found none.
One firefighter sustained minor injuries and was taken to a local hospital for evaluation.
The cause of the fire is currently under investigation.
