Fort Wayne, Indiana (May 27, 2023) – TinCaps second baseman Lucas Dunn ripped an RBI triple in the fifth inning, starting pitcher Bodi Rascon tossed five shutout frames, and Fort Wayne blanked the Lansing Lugnuts (Oakland A’s affiliate) again Saturday night, 4-0, at Parkview Field before a sellout crowd of 7,323. The ‘Caps are on a season-long four game winning streak and have won seven of their last eight.

Dunn’s opposite-field triple came with no one out in the bottom of the fifth and scored center fielder Jakob Marsee (No. 22 Padres prospect) after a leadoff walk to break a scoreless tie. Left fielder Justin Farmer followed that up with a sacrifice fly to make it 2-0.

Fort Wayne right fielder Joshua Mears (No. 14 Padres prospect), who hit a walk-off double Friday night, extended his RBI streak to six games with a sacrifice fly in the eighth. First baseman Nathan Martorella (No. 23 Padres prospect) added more insurance with a two-out single to score shortstop Jackson Merrill (No. 1 Padres prospect).
