
On May 15, 2023, at 0558 hours, the Fort Wayne Fire Department responded to the report of a house fire in the 3000 block of Sandpoint Road, Fort Wayne, Indiana.

On Scene: 0602 hours
Under Control: 0609 hours
An occupant of the home awoke to the smell of smoke. A fire was found in the front room of the home. Three persons and one cat living in the house escaped through a first floor window. Firefighters arrived to find fire venting from the windows in the front of the house. Crews entered the structure to extinguish the fire and searched for possible victims. The fire was quickly extinguished.
No injuries occurred during the incident and the cause of the fire is under investigation.
