
On March 4, 2023, at 0048 hours, the Fort Wayne Fire Department was dispatched to a house fire in the 500 block of Riley Drive, Fort Wayne, Indiana.

Under Control: 0103 hours
On arrival, firefighters found a medium single story residential with moderate smoke coming from the attached garage. Initial engine crews found a working fire in the garage and quickly extinguished it. Another crew searched the residence and checked for extension into the home. The fire did not extend into the house or attic, so all damage was mainly contained to the two-car garage.
All occupants and a dog had vacated the structure prior to fire department arrival. Several cats remained safe secured inside the home away from harm.
The fire is under investigation.
