
On January 29, 2023, at 1941 hours, the Fort Wayne Fire Department was dispatched to an apartment fire at the Autumn Creek Apartment Complex in the 3900 block of Taylor Street, Fort Wayne, Indiana.
Time of Alarm: 1941 hours
On Scene: 1945 hours
Under Control: 2016 hours
Crews arrived on the scene and found smoke inside the common stairwell of the building. An occupant was on a second-floor balcony in rear of building and fire crews rescued them with a ladder. Crews located fire in a first-floor apartment and forced entry, locating an adult victim in the apartment’s hallway. Fire was found in a bathroom and hallway and extinguished. Firefighters searched surrounding apartments and ventilated the smoke from the building.
Fire investigators were on scene working to determine the cause of the fire.
