Details/Summary:
On 1/22/2023 at 0030 hours, The FWPD responded to a shooting investigation in the 900 block of Columbia Avenue. Upon arrival, officers located a male victim suffering from gunshot wound(s). The victim was transported to the hospital and classified in non-life-threatening condition. Homicide Detectives conducted the investigation and developed probable cause to arrest the shooter, identified as Dennis Williams Jr. On 1/23/2023 at 6:22 pm, the Gang and Violent Crimes Unit and the Narcotics Division conducted a high-risk traffic felony stop at the intersection of N. Anthony Blvd and Saint Joe River Drive. Dennis Williams Jr was arrested without incident and transported to the Allen County Jail for the charges of Attempted Murder, Criminal Recklessness and Battery w/ Deadly Weapon. The Homicide Unit was additionally assisted by the Aerial Support Unit and the Allen County Prosecutors Office.
All criminal defendants are to be presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.
