Details/Summary:
On Wednesday, January 18th, 2023 at 8:35 am, the Fort Wayne Police Department responded to a report of a shooting investigation at 1100 Skyline Pass. Upon arrival, officers located two subjects suffering from gunshot wound(s). One subject was an adult female and the second victim was a male juvenile. The Fort Wayne Fire Department arrived on scene and both subjects were pronounced deceased. The Fort Wayne Homicide Unit conducted the investigation, with the assistance of the Allen County Coroners Office and the Allen County Prosecutors Office. On January 19th, an autopsy was conducted on both subjects. The Coroner ruled these deaths a murder-suicide, which was consistent with the investigation conducted by the Homicide Unit. The deceased adult murder suspect was identified as 43-year-old Kari Lynn Beck.
All criminal defendants are to be presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.
