FWPD: Stabbing Investigation, 600 block West Suttenfield Avenue

On December 29, 2022, at 1130 hours, the Fort Wayne Police Department was dispatched to the 600 block of West Suttenfield Avenue for a reported stabbing.

Details/Summary:

The Fort Wayne Police Department is investigating a stabbing that occurred today at the 600 block of E. Suttenfield Ave. at roughly 11:30 am. Dispatch received a call from a concerned citizen who advised that a lady was laying in the roadway and had been stabbed. FWPD officers arrived on scene and located an adult female victim suffering from an apparent stab wound. Officers rendered aid and the victim was transported by TRAA to a local hospital in serious condition. Once at the hospital, the victim was downgraded to life threatening condition by hospital staff.

A person of interested was named through victim and witness statements. A warrant was issued and a residence was searched in the 600 block of E. Suttenfield Ave. after numerous attempts to get the potential occupant out failed. Once the residence was searched, no one was located inside. A neighborhood search was also conducted for the person of interest unsuccessfully. This incident remains under investigation by the Fort Wayne Police Department and the Allen County Prosecutor’s Office.

All criminal defendants are to be presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.
