FWPD: Critical Injury Multiple Motor Vehicle Accident, North Clinton Street and Spy Run Avenue

On December 21, 2022, at 1010 hours, the Fort Wayne Police Department responded to a two-vehicle accident at the intersection of North Clinton Street and Spy Run Extended.

Details/Summary:

The Fort Wayne Police Department is investigating a two-vehicle crash that occurred today around 10:10 am at N. Clinton St. and Spy Run extended. Preliminary information indicates that an adult female driver of a passenger car was traveling Southwest across Clinton and ran the stop sign in front of a Northbound work van with an adult male driver. The female driver of the passenger car was ejected into the roadway. She was transported by TRAA to a local hospital with critical to life threatening injuries. The driver of the van was not injured.

The female driver is in critical to life threatening condition. The FWPD Fatal, Accident, Crash Team and the FWPD Air Support Unit were paged to the scene. Northbound Clinton and Spy Run extended are currently closed while the scene is being processed. As is protocol the FACT team took over the investigation. This incident remains under investigation by the Fort Wayne Police Department and the Allen County Prosecutor’s Office.

All criminal defendants are to be presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.
