
On November 24, 2022, at 1245 hours, the Fort Wayne Fire Department was dispatched to a house fire in the 1300 block of Michigan Avenue, Fort Wayne, Indiana.

On Scene: 1249 hours
Under Control: 0111 hours
The first firefighters on the scene encountered moderate smoke conditions upon entering the structure. The fire was discovered to be in the walls and had extended into the attic. Firefighters worked for approximately 20 minutes to control the fire.
Damage was extensive on the second floor and attic area. The house was ultimately condemned due to the damage.
Five occupants were home at the time of the fire and all self-evacuated without injuries.
Firefighters remain on the scene completing overhaul activities and assisting fire investigators in determining the cause of the fire.
