The Fort Wayne Police Department has arrested Floyd Bates, Jr., on the preliminary charges of Murder and Attempted Murder in connection with a fatal stabbing in the 7900 block of Decatur Road on October 14, 2022.

Details/Summary:
On 10/14/2022 at 0235 hours, the Fort Wayne Police Department responded to the 7900 block of Decatur Road reference a stabbing investigation. When officers arrived, a female victim was found suffering from stab wound(s) and was pronounced deceased on scene by medics. A second victim was also located and transported to the hospital in non-life threatening condition. The Homicide Unit responded to the scene and conducted the investigation. The Homicide Unit arrested 58yo Floyd Bates Jr on the preliminary charges of Murder and Attempted Murder. He is currently confined at the Allen County Jail. The case is sill under investigation.
All criminal defendants are to be presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.
