On July 21. 2022, at 0104 hours, the Fort Wayne Fire Department was dispatched to a house fire in the 4400 block of Avondale Drive, Fort Wayne, Indiana.

Under Control: 0116 hours
The occupant of the home called 9-1-1 reported that a clothes dryer was on fire and had spread to the rest of the home. Firefighters arrived to find smoke visible from the front of the house. They met with the occupant who said everyone had self-evacuated safely. A small fire was extinguished on the first floor and a search of the entire structure was conducted.
No injuries occurred at this incident and the cause is under investigation.
