On July 8, 2020, at 2300 hours, the Fort Wayne Police Department responded to the Coliseum Inn at 1020 North Coliseum Boulevard in reference to a shooting.

On Wednesday, 07/08/2020, at approximately 11:00 PM, the City of Fort Wayne Police Department responded to the Coliseum Inn located at 1020 North Coliseum Blvd. reference a shooting. A witness reported a male had been shot inside one of the motel rooms. Officers located the male/adult victim and observed he was suffering from an apparent gunshot wound (s). Paramedics pronounced the victim deceased at the scene.
Detectives are going door to door interviewing guests at the motel and reviewing surveillance video. In addition, witnesses have been transported to police headquarters for interviews. Detectives hope to obtain suspect information once those interviews are concluded. The Allen County Coroner’s Office will release the deceased identity along with the cause and manner of death. This incident remains under investigation by the City of Fort Wayne Police Department, the Allen County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office, and the Allen County Coroner’s Office.
All criminal defendants are to be presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.
