Annual Animal Training and Enrichment Day Events Planned
Fort Wayne Indiana (July 5, 2022) – The Fort Wayne Children’s Zoo invites guests to learn about the behaviors and training of animals through fun activities during Kids for Nature Animal Enrichment and Training Day on Wednesday, July 6th, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Come join the festivities with fun, engaging activities. These activities include:
- Test your digging skills! Search for prizes just like animals do with food.
- See if you can solve a feeder puzzle that the animals here at the Zoo use.
- Learn about our farm animals and the food they eat with a matching game.
Enrichment activities are designed to bring out the natural instincts of animals and allows guests to observe these natural behaviors. Enrichment can include food puzzles, scents, and custom designed activities.
“Enrichment allows us to connect guests to natural behaviors and actions from the animals here at the Zoo,” says Rachel Mensch, Section Supervisor of Central Zoo. “It also has the added benefit of helping us monitor the zoo animal’s well-being and allows us to learn more about these amazing species in our care.”
Animal Enrichment and Training Day is free with paid zoo admission.
