Details/Summary:
On Sunday, 05/22/2022, at approximately 01:18 AM, the City of Fort Wayne Police Department responded to the intersection of W. Jefferson Blvd and Catalpa Street after receiving several calls regarding a crash with a single motorcycle and an injured driver.
Officers arrived on scene and observed the crash involved one single motorcycle with extensive damage. The adult male driver of the motorcycle was given medical attention on scene and transported to a local hospital in life threatening condition. The driver was later pronounced deceased at the hospital.
Preliminary information indicates the motorcycle was traveling eastbound on W. Jefferson Blvd and lost control, hitting a guardrail just west of Catalpa Street.
Investigators are asking anyone that witnessed this crash to contact the Fort Wayne Police Department or use the free “P3 Tips” app.
This incident remains under investigation by the City of Fort Wayne Police Department, the Allen County Coroner’s Office, and the Allen County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office. The Allen County Coroner’s Office will release the cause of death and identity of the victim.
All criminal defendants are to be presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.
