Details/Summary:
On Friday, 05/20/2022, at approximately 9:01 PM, the City of Fort Wayne Police Department responded to the intersection of Oxford Street and Bueter Drive regarding a vehicle crash with injuries. Dispatch received several calls indicating the crash involved a sport utility vehicle (SUV) and a motorcycle.
Officers arrived on scene and observed the crash involved a motorcycle and an SUV, both with extensive damage. The adult male driver of the motorcycle was pronounced deceased at the scene. The adult male driver of the SUV did not require medical attention for a minor injury.
Preliminary information indicates the motorcycle was traveling eastbound on Oxford Street and that the SUV was making a left turn to head westbound on Oxford Street from Bueter Drive.
Investigators are asking anyone that witnessed this crash to contact the Fort Wayne Police Department or use the free “P3 Tips” app.
This incident remains under investigation by the City of Fort Wayne Police Department, the Allen County Coroner’s Office, and the Allen County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office. The Allen County Coroner’s Office will release the cause of death and identity of the victim.
All criminal defendants are to be presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.
