Details/Summary:
On Saturday, 05/07/2022, at approximately 10:21 PM, the City of Fort Wayne Police Department responded to the intersection of Spy Run Avenue and Wagner Street reference a vehicle crash with injuries. Witnesses reported a dark colored SUV struck a pedestrian and fled the scene northbound on Spy Run Avenue. Officers located the adult/feamle victim lying in the middle of the roadway. Paramedics transported the pedestrian to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries.
Officers canvassed the area and located the SUV a short distance from the crash scene. The driver of the SUV has not been located. Investigators are asking anyone that witnessed this crash to contact the Fort Wayne Police Department or use the free “P3 Tips” app.
Spy Run Avenue is closed to all traffic between Main Street and Fourth Street while investigators process the scene. This incident remains under investigation by the City of Fort Wayne Police Department and the Allen County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office.
All criminal defendants are to be presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.
