Germanfest Fort Wayne will be returning June 5-12, 2022 and celebrating the 40th Anniversary of the historical festival.

Germanfest Fort Wayne Announces 40th Anniversary
Fort Wayne, Indiana (May 4, 2022) – Germanfest Fort Wayne will be returning June 5-12, 2022 and celebrating the 40th Anniversary of the historical festival.
The 40th Anniversary celebration of Germanfest will begin with a parade including the ceremonial first keg through downtown Fort Wayne on Wednesday June 8 at 5:00 P.M.
“We are excited to bring back the ‘Essen, Trinken und Gemutlichkeit’ the city of Fort Wayne has been missing since last held in 2019.” Stated Abby Scheibenberger Heidenreich. “Fort Wayne is rich in German heritage and Germanfest is returning with our biggest and best festival.”
2022’s Germanfest brings exciting changes. Saturday June 11 Familienfest will take over Headwaters Park West. Germanfest’s events, homecooked food and of course beer will be enjoyed on both sides of the park. The Wienerdog Nationals and new Black Forest Stone Challenge will take place at Headwaters Park West in addition to family and children’s activities.
The Chapman’s Germanfest Schwarzbier currently is fermenting at Chapman’s Brewing Company. 2022 marks the 3rd brewing of Germanfest’s own schwarzbier. Schwarzbier is dark or black lager with chocolate and coffee notes whose roots come from Thuringia and Saxony Germany. Chapman’s Germanfest Schwarzbier will be available in cans and on tap at the festival.

Registration for all events, including Legs N’ Lederhosen, Polka like a Star, and the aforementioned Wienerdog Nationals and Black Forest Stone Challenge will be via Germanfest.org
