On April 27, 2022, at 1133 hours, the Fort Wayne Police Department were dispatched to the 3300 block of Cheviot Drive in reference to an unknown problem.

Details/Summary:
On Wednesday, April 27, 2022, at approximately 11:33 PM, Officers with the Fort Wayne Police Department were dispatched to the 3300 block of Cheviot Dr. in reference to a problem unknown.
Upon arrival, Officers observed someone through the window with a weapon. A perimeter around the building was established to ensure public safety. Attempts to get the subject to come out of the apartment were unsuccessful. At approximately 12:06 AM, the Fort Wayne Police Crisis Response Team (CRT), Emergency Services Team (EST), and Aerial Support Unit (ASU) were requested due to their enhanced capabilities.
Additional attempts were made to contact the subject inside and were also unsuccessful. At approximately 2:11 AM, EST members made entry and located two deceased subjects inside. The Homicide Team and Crime Scene Units were then requested and are currently investigating.
This incident remains under investigation by the City of Fort Wayne Police Department, the Allen County Coroner’s Office, and the Allen County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office. The Allen County Coroner’s Office will release the identity of the subjects.
All criminal defendants are to be presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.
