On March 17, 2022, at 1608 hours, the Fort Wayne Fire Department was dispatched to an apartment fire in the 1400 block of Swinney Avenue, Fort Wayne, Indiana.

Time of Alarm: 1608 hours
On Scene: 1611 hours
Under Control: 1627 hours
Upon arrival, firefighters were told by the caller that no persons were still in the structure. The crew entered and extinguished a second-floor apartment fire that was venting from the front windows. The fire was brought under control in 16 minutes.
A search of the building confirmed no victims; however, three pets perished in the fire.
No other injuries occurred at this incident.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
