Details/Summary:
The Fort Wayne Police Department responded to a domestic battery call for service just before 8am today at a residence on the 1400 block of Michigan Ave. Upon arrival Officers heard screaming coming from the residence. Attempts were made to make contact with the occupants of the residence, but were unsuccessful. Eventually an adult female victim exited the residence. She refused medical treatment and advised that a disturbance between her and her boyfriend took place inside the home resulting in charges.
Operations Officers set up a perimeter around the residence and attempted to make contact with the Suspect, but were unsuccessful. A distraction device was deployed to entice compliance, but was also unsuccessful. The EST (Emergency Service Team), CRT (Crisis Response Team), and ASU (Air Support Unit) units were paged. Shortly after the Special Operations Units arrived, the suspect came out voluntarily without incident.
All criminal defendants are to be presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.
