Statement from City of Fort Wayne concerning a person impersonating a City employee:

Good afternoon –

We’d like to alert the media and public that someone has been calling several residents in Fort Wayne using a 260-427-8311 number indicating he is from the City of Fort Wayne’s 311 call center regarding garbage collection concerns. We’ve also had reports that the person calling has been using inappropriate language. Residents should ignore these calls. The City’s 311 call center staff is not calling residents in this manner and is busy at work taking phone calls from the public to address daily concerns that come into the City to help meet the needs of the community.
