The Fort Wayne Police Department Gang and Violent Crimes Unit has been investigating an ongoing feud between alleged gang members and has resulted in two arrests.

Community Problem

Fort Wayne, Indiana (November 23, 2021) – The City of Fort Wayne has seen a rash of violence over the past couple months between two local street gangs. The Fort Wayne Police Department Gang and Violent Crimes Unit has been investigating this feud, collecting intelligence and conducting targeted enforcement on key players.

The GVCU has continued utilizing investigative strategies and enforcement techniques attempting to minimize the violence associated with these groups. Due to the combined efforts of GVCU Detectives and Southeast Operations officers; five associated members were arrested early this morning and charged with a variety of offenses (three were juveniles, two were adults). Additionally, seven firearms were confiscated by GVCU detectives as a result of the investigations last night.

It is the hope of the City of Fort Wayne Police Department that the multiple arrests and firearms confiscated will lead to a reduction in violence between the involved street gangs. Adult Arrest from the 3300 block of Felician Street: Aristotle King, male/22yo

Charges:

  • Level five felony resisting law enforcement fleeing in a vehicle
  • Level five felony Criminal Recklessness – shooting into an inhabited dwelling or place people likely gather
  • Obstruction of Justice
  • Felony Carrying a handgun without a license
  • Four additional warrants

Marcus Martin Jr, male/18yo

  • Level five felony Criminal Recklessness – shooting into an inhabited dwelling or place people likely gather
  • Obstruction of Justice
  • Resisting Law Enforcement – fleeing on foot
