Chances for severe weather increase Saturday afternoon/eveningFort Wayne, Indiana (July 23, 2021) – This weekend brings chances for scattered showers and storms, including some that could be strong to severe. Overnight, temperatures drop into the upper 60s to lower 70s under mostly cloudy skies. Tomorrow, expect near-normal temperatures with rain chances gradually increasing throughout the day. Right now, the best chances for severe weather come late on Saturday afternoon into the evening (5-11PM), although confidence is still low on exact timing and location. There is a slight risk (level 2/5) for severe weather, particularly in southern Michigan and to the northwest of our warning area, including South Bend, Indiana. A Marginal risk (level 1/5) exists for northern Indiana and northwest Ohio, including Fort Wayne, Indiana. Primary hazards include damaging wind gusts, small hail, heavy rain, and frequent lighting, although an isolated tornado cannot be ruled out.
