The Fort Wayne Fire Department responded to a reported house fire in the 500 block of Leith Street on July 4, 2021, at 1:07 pm.
Fort Wayne, Indiana (July 4, 2021) Upon arrival, the first units found fire on the exterior of the house and extinguished the fire. The crews checked for and extinguished hot spots that had extended to the interior of the home.
Two occupants self-evacuated from the structure. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
The Fort Wayne Fire Department was assisted by the Fort Wayne Police Department, City of Fort Wayne Neighborhood Code Enforcement, the Three Rivers Ambulance Authority, NIPSCO, and Indiana Michigan Power.
