Fort Wayne, Indiana (June 29, 2021) – The Fort Wayne Fire Department responded to the report of a house fire in the 5100 block of Fairfield Avenue on June 29, 2021, at 6:55 pm.
The first unit arrived at a 1-1/2 story residential structure with visible smoke. The crew pulled a hand line and found a fire in the basement. Other crews arrived and assisted with controlling the fire and searching for occupants.
Two people in the home self-evacuated before the Fire Department’s arrival. It took firefighters ten minutes to control the fire, and no injuries were reported.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
