Fort Wayne, Indiana (June 17, 2021) – The autopsy has been completed and notification has been made to the next of kin for the male victim that was found on the railroad elevation near Hoagland Avenue and Melita Street, in Fort Wayne, on Tuesday, June 14, 2021, at approximately 22:30 hours. The deceased has been positively identified as Mario Antonio Gilmer, a male, black, 12 years of age from Fort Wayne, Indiana.
Cause of Death has been determined to be Gunshot Wound of Head and the Manner of Death is Pending Investigation.
The incident remains under investigation by the Fort Wayne Police Department, the Allen County Prosecutor’s Office and the Allen County Coroner’s Office.
