An arrest has been made in this investigation by the Fort Wayne Police Department.
On May 22, 2021, at 0041 hours, the Fort Wayne Police Department responded to multiple reports of numerous gunshots being fired towards the rear parking lot of the Villages of Hanna.

Details/Summary:
On May 22, 2021, at 12:41am, officers with the Fort Wayne Police Department responded to multiple reports of numerous gunshots being fired towards the rear parking lot of the Villages of Hanna. As officers arrived, gunfire was still ongoing.
Officers ran towards the gunfire and were not able to locate any suspects. Officers began checking all of the surrounding apartment buildings that appeared to have been struck by gunfire and located a total of four victims (age/sex unknown at this time) in various apartments. Initial reports were three people in life-threatening condition and one person in non-life-threatening condition. All of the victims were taken to various local hospitals with the help of TRAA and surrounding county ambulances. One person was later pronounced deceased, one person remains in life-threatening condition, and two remain in non-life-threatening condition.
At this time, it appears there was some sort of disturbance between multiple shooters in the parking lot. It appears that the victims were struck by stray rounds as they were inside their apartments.
Officers went door to door checking on the safety of the occupants in the surrounding apartment buildings. Detectives are canvassing the area, searching for any witnesses as well as any video surveillance. Crime Scene Technicians are processing the scene, searching for and collecting evidence.
At this time, there is no known motive. The ages/sexes/identities of the victims will be released when appropriate, with the decedent’s identity, cause, and manner of death being released by the Allen County Coroner’s Office.
All criminal defendants are to be presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.
