House fire, Central Drive

Fort Wayne, Indiana (February 26, 2021) – The Fort Wayne Fire Department was dispatched to the 3900 block of Central Drive on the report of a structure fire with multiple 9-1-1 calls.

The first arriving firefighters found smoke and fire coming from a 2-story residence. Two engine companies attacked the fire while subsequently searching for occupants. A thorough search found no one in residence. With the heavy fire involvement, crews took about 20 minutes to get under control with extensive salvage and overhauling. The residence sustained heavy fire smoke and water damage.

The cause is under investigation.

The Fort Wayne Fire Department was assisted by the Fort Wayne Police Department, NIPSCO, Indiana Michigan Power, Fort Wayne City Utilities, the American Red Cross, and Neighborhood Code.
