House fire, Autumn Chase Drive
Fort Wayne, Indiana (February 13, 2021) – Fort Wayne Fire Fighters responded to a reported house fire in the 6900 block of Autumn Chase Drive at approximately 7:25 this evening.
The first arriving unit reported smoke coming from the eaves. Upon entering the house, they found a fire in the kitchen. Crews took 20 minutes to extinguish the blaze.
No one was home at the time of the fire, however there were three family pets inside the home. Firefighters were able to rescue two of the pets but one perished. No other injuries were reported.
The cause of the fire was an accidental fire on the stove top.
Fire Fighters were assisted by the Fort Wayne Police Department, City of Fort Wayne Neighborhood Code Enforcement, Indiana Michigan Power, NIPSCO, City of Fort Wayne Animal Care and Control, and the American Red Cross.
