FWFD: Apartment fire, Clinton Street

FORT WAYNE INDIANA (January 2, 2021) – Fort Wayne Fire Department crews responded to an apartment fire in the 3200 block of South Clinton Street at 5:10 am to find fire coming from the second-floor windows of a vacant building.

Crews extinguished the fire while searching the first and second floor for any possible vagrants. The fire, which started in a second-floor apartment, was under control in just over 15 minutes.

Crews remained on scene to assist with overhaul and investigations. Clinton Street was completely shut down.

The FWFD was assisted by Fort Wayne Police Department, Fort Wayne Neighborhood Code Enforcement, the Three Rivers Ambulance Authority, NIPSCO, Indiana Michigan Power, and the Allen County Building Department.
