City Street Department completes neighborhood leaf collection program for 2020
(December 21, 2020) – The City of Fort Wayne Street Department has completed the neighborhood leaf collection program for 2020.
Crews will continue to collect biodegradable bags, with December 31 being the last day for that type of collection. Residents with bagged leaves are asked to call 311 to schedule a pick-up. The bags need to be placed at the curb prior to calling 311.
The City will designate two weeks in the spring for a spring cleanup for residents who want to use the biodegradable bag program. Dates will be announced in March.
Highlights of this year’s collection efforts:
- Truck loads: 4,648
- Vac loads: 522
- Bagged leaves: 25,895
- Grant total loads: 5,428
- Approximate tonnage of leaves: 18,241
