(November 23, 2020) – Incoming Circuit Court Judge, Wendy W. Davis, who will replace retiring Circuit Court Judge Thomas J. Felts in January, announced today that Jesus Ricardo Treviño has been selected as the new Circuit Court magistrate. Treviño will begin his tenure on January 1, 2021, in the Circuit Court’s IV-D division. His appointment fills a vacancy created when Magistrate Steven O. Treviño will become the first Hispanic to serve as a judicial officer in Allen County.
“I have seen his work ethic and understanding of the law first-hand, as he has appeared before me many times as a deputy prosecuting attorney,” said incoming Circuit Court Judge Wendy W. Davis, who currently serves as Judge in the Allen Superior Court. “Additionally, he brings a much-needed addition of diversity to the Allen Circuit judiciary. Mr. Treviño will be a valuable addition to the Circuit Court team.”

He currently is the Level 6 Felony Section Chief, responsible for managing all level 6 prosecutions and training new deputy prosecutors. He has also served over 10 years as a Commissioner for the Ft. Wayne Metropolitan Human Relations Commission whose primary goal is to educate, empower, and enforce anti-discrimination laws.
“It is an honor and privilege to be selected as the next Allen Circuit Court magistrate,” said Treviño, “I have many people to thank for helping me get to this important position. I look forward to bringing my diversity and over a decade of experience working for the Prosecutor’s Office to the bench. I am excited to join the amazing Circuit Court team and continue my service to the citizens of Allen County.”
