Details/Summary:

On September 30, 2020, at 11:14am, Detectives with the Fort Wayne Police Gang and Violent Crimes Unit attempted to make a traffic stop on a vehicle driven by Alexander Turner at the intersection of S. Anthony Blvd. and McKee St. Detectives had information that Turner had several felony fugitive warrants out of Whitley County. Instead of pulling over, Turner disregarded the safety of his two passengers and of the general public and led police on a high-speed chase throughout Southeast Fort Wayne and the bordering area of Allen County.

An officer was eventually able to deploy a tire deflation device on Adams Center Rd. which deflated one of the vehicle tires and caused the pursuit to end at the corner of Adams Center Rd. and Wilson Ln.

Turner ran on foot and hid in an adjacent wooded area. With the help of FWPD, NHPD, and ACPD k9 units and the FWPD Air Support Unit, turner was eventually located and safely taken into custody. Turner was booked into the Allen County Jail on the above charges.

The two adult passengers were not charged. There were no crashes and no injuries.

There is nothing further.

All criminal defendants are to be presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.

All information is preliminary and subject to change during the course of the investigation.
