Details/Summary:
On Sunday, 09/20/2020, at approximately 1:03 AM, the City of Fort Wayne Police Department responded to the 3400 block of North Clinton Street reference a subject lying in the roadway. Officers arrived and located the male/adult victim lying in the northbound lane of Clinton Street. The victim was unresponsive and evidence indicated he had been struck by a vehicle. Paramedics transported the victim to a local hospital in serious condition. Upon arriving at the hospital his condition was downgraded to life-threatening by a physician.
Investigators reported the vehicle that struck the pedestrian victim fled the scene. They are interviewing witnesses and reviewing surveillance video from nearby businesses. They hope the surveillance video and evidence left that the scene will help identify the suspect vehicle. This incident remains under investigation by the City of Fort Wayne Police Department and the Allen County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office.
