Details/Summary:
Officers were called to the Speedway at 7114 Bluffton Road regarding a 911 Hang Up. Just before officers arrived, dispatched received another call that it was an accident with injury. When officers arrived on scene they found a male adult pinned between two vehicles. Medics and FWFD arrived and the male was extracted and taken to a local hospital where he was said to have life threatening injuries. The female driver of the suspect vehicle fled the scene prior to police arrival. She has not been located at this time.
It appears the suspect vehicle left one of the gas pumps at a high rate of speed and crashed into a man standing at the rear of a vehicle on the lot. There was a baby in the suspect car during the crash. The baby had minor injuries and was restrained in a car seat.
The FACT Team was paged out to document the scene and secure evidence. This incident remains under investigation.
All criminal defendants are to be presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.
