On August 25, 2020, at 2130 hours, the Fort Wayne Police Department responded to the 2700 block of Hoagland Avenue in reference to a reported shooting.

Details/Summary:
On Aug 25, 2020 shortly after 9:30 pm Officers of the Fort Wayne Police Department responded to the 2700 Block of Hoagland Ave. in reference to a reported shooting.
Officers were advised that there had been numerous calls advising that they had heard several gunshots and that they could see a male subject on the ground after possibly being shot. Officers were advised that there had been reports of a possible suspect fleeing on foot and they had also received calls that had stated that they believed the suspect left in a vehicle.
Upon Officers arrival on scene they did locate an adult male victim suffering from an an apparent gunshot wound and the victim was transported to a local hospital with Non Life Threatening Injuries and a short time later they received notification that the victim had been downgraded to Life Threatening Injuries.
Homicide Detectives as well as Crime Scene Technicians were called to the scene and upon their arrival Detectives began canvassing the area attempting to speak with anyone that may have seen or heard anything that could assist them in this investigation. Crime Scene Technicians began to process the scene for any possible evidence that would assist Detectives as well.
This incident is being investigated by the Fort Wayne Police Department, the Allen County Prosecutor’s Office.
All criminal defendants are to be presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.
